1.  The Smaller Trunk is identified as having belonged to:
1st Lt. Sumner Sewall - 95th Aero Squadron - Flying Ace of the First Pursuit Group - 1918.

2.  The button is from his WWI tunic.

3.  The bed roll (sleeping bag) is from his WWI service along with the other bags and one bed sheet.

4.  The Larger Trunk is identified as having belonged to:
Honorable Sumner Sewall, Military Governor of Württemberg-Baden, Germany -1946.

5.  Also included are two shipping tags:

One is identified to be from Sewall's good friend and fellow pilot Capt. John Mitchell from the 95th Aero Squadron.

The other tag "Railway Express Agency" shows shipment from 280 Park Avenue, NYC to an address in Bath, Maine.

6.  Copies of eight pages of transcribed letters written from Sewall to his mother during his WWI service.
