Seabees Sea Chest - Identified

This personalized piece of Navy history belonged to a C.C. Youngs, CCM -- Chief Carpenter's Mate USN who served during WWII in Panama and Iceland in 1942.

It is hand painted and hand made.

The official motto of the Seabees is "Construimus, Batuimus" – translates into English as "We Build, We Fight." and it can be seen on the front along with a polar bear, flags and a sailor leaning up against a palm tree.

Measures 30 x 18 x 14 inches with heavy rope handles.
