Early Kentucky Rifle

Barrel is marked "P Hess" for Philip Hess (b. 1766) from Lehigh County Pennsylvania (Arms Makers of Pennsylvania by James B. Whisker pages 104 - 105).

 Approximately 50 caliber.   Overall length is 55 inches and barrel measures 39 inches.  The lock is marked "J. DEMUTH WARRANTED".
