French Light Artillery Saber (Civil War Artillery Saber)

The sword that the US Model 1840 artillery saber was patterned after.

This is a very high condition example with the blade retaining all of the bright polish and some of the French manufacturing information in script along the saber’s rib.  Dated 1839.

The leather and wire grip is perfect.  The blade has no nicks or damage.

The brass D guard is excellent with various inspection stamps.  Scabbard is also in excellent-plus condition with no damage.

This saber would be difficult to upgrade.
